My car is 07, have a spare LCI taillight from my 13 GP, decided to do a swap w/o programming.
Non LCI to LCI is NOT a direct plug and play, you can program it for sure. but you can also switch wires if you don't want to learn programming just for that. This is not a step by step, just to point out some key things that people may curious about.
- No wire cut is needed, the wire can be pulled out and re-insert to the connector. so you can even make the LCI as a blinker.
- Once the headlight on, Pre-LCI has 2 bulbs light on, they are the same bulbs for brakes. For LCI taillight, headlight on, LCI on. there are 2 different bulbs for brakes only. This is the main difference other than the sequence of the wires. In my case, the upper brake light from the LCI taillight isn't wired.
- You will need to add a reverse light, this is another difference between pre-LCI and LCI. I put 3 LED & wire to 1 of the reverse light wire. Left is Pre-LCI, right is the LCI. # 1 to 6 is sequence of the wire in connector. L to R. For example, #4 for pre-LCI is lower brake light, but for pre-LCI is upper brake light (I leave it open to disconnect upper one) Do NOT cut the wire, easy to switch New reverse light.
