New Black Grill Type

I found this grill from Bauhaus for about $95. It goes over stock grill using adhesive. Not an Aero grill, but looks like one. Anyone own one, or seen one in person?

So you're paying more for something that gives your car the appearance of the aerokit grille?

Cost To Install

I haven't bought it at this point. The cost of having the lower Aero grill cut, altered and installed on a stock bumper that has to be removed is my concern.

Do you know for sure if the photo above is of the actual item, or is it a factory areo kit bumper? The reason I ask is that I don't see any factory grill behind it at all

It looks lit the upper part is a regular aero grille and the lower fits over the existing Cooper bumper because you can see the chrome under it. That wouldn't be a bad deal.

The lower bumper is for sure a cooper bumper with chrome trim. I can see the chrome grill thru the add on grill. I would have to see how it looks in person to tell if it would look good or not. It’s o.k. in the photo, but not o.k. enough for me to even try buying it. The upper grill still looks like a stock aero grill. But there is still something funny about how it looks. They must have had some photo shop fun with it or something. Also there is no lower (the lowest) grill. Strange… not sure if I would try it unless they have a full money back offer. Good luck. Chad

I don't see the usual openings behind the grill that are visible with an Aero grill. Is that what you're noticing?

Yeah, in the factory aero grill you can see a piece in the middle behind the grille... looks almost like an "I" that defines the two main openings. Plus the factory grill isnt that shiny.

That one looks like it has something behind it that would block air from getting to the engine.

Ugly, Ugly, and more Ugly. Get the real aero grill and spend the extra cash on a dremel or have someone else do it for cheap. Maybe a local MINI owner has installed one and could help you out.
