2006 JCW newbie question. Gauges ?

Hi all. Just bought a 2006 with 70k. on the car. Honestly it is a number 9.5 inside and out. It had a few owners before me and the last owner did all the heavy lifting and only drove it a 1,000 miles before I got it. Sold it because of new expanding family.
These are some of the add ons that he did.

Koni Yellow shocks and struts
Sport Springs
New brakes and Power stop rotors with Hawk blue pads
Wheels and tires
Milltek Cat Back Exhaust
Free flow air filter
Short Shifter
M7 Struct Bar

Now my question is in the first picture there are 2 guages (PO did not install) that are vdo one is volts and the other is oil temp in C'. I am sure this is not factory. The battery I can understand but I'm at loss of the oil temp. In C. The factory gauge pack has oil temp. Why 2? Would any one think this might be for the super charger? Only had the car for 2 days so I have not did anything to track it down.

My original answer (below) addresses the wrong gauges. I'll leave it here in case it helps anyone with the crono pack.

Those are factory installed gauges. I believe it was called the Crono Pack. Due to not having the speedometer in the center, it had to me moved to above the steering wheel next to the tachometer.

The small circle top right is the coolant temperature.

The larger circle on the left is for oil. On the right side of that circle is oil pressure (PSI). On the left side of that circle is oil temperature.

All temperatures are in Fahrenheit (hence the F on those gauges)

The small dark gauge at the bottom is obviously fuel level.

Pretty sure he is referring to the pair of VDO gauges in the lower console. Those were an OEM accessory. The oil temp comes directly from a sensor in the oil drain plug. Kind of redundant in a car that has the factory Chrono pack already in the dash.

Yes I was referring to the VDO gauges. Thanks for the clarification ...thats what I thought a redundant gauge . I wonder what I could put in there instead?

Maybe start a new thread and see what other gear heads would do...LOL

The chrono pac is simply dumb lights with a needle........not accurate. The aux gauges down below are accurate. Have them on my car.

Your car has the chrono pack option, which gives you a different center display along with the double tach/speedo. The information displayed in the dash is all digital and isn't really accurate. The lower is an OEM accessory that's actually pretty rare. It uses a physical sensor in the oil pan...BUT it is good to know, the sensor they use tend to strip the oil pan very easily as a heads up.

Thanks for the information...good to know. I guess I will be watching that temp gauge even more. The more I ask about the car the more interesting information I find out. What I can not believe is that this MINI has had 3 or 4 owners and it seems like each one has taken exceptional care of the car. And that this car was sticker priced at over $30k.

So to address something that was hinted at previously, the standard layout has a speedometer in the center so those additional VDO gauges would not be redundant on a standard car. As previously mentioned, they are more accurate than the Chrono pack and are a rare item.

I want to say that “back in the day” I saw some posts where someone replaced the gauges with something else....so it’s probably up to you on what you want to do. I’d keep it stock though.

Looks like a nice car!

I definitely like the bronze wheels on the car. Great combo.

I had a set of the VDO's in my 2004 S. SHOULD have removed them before selling them. A RARE set indeed....
