What’s considered safe boost on F56?

Have we found a region of what is considered safe boost on these cars?

What IATs and corresponding Boost are you guys seeing on your tuned Maps?

Thanks.

Thank you.
Technically boost isn’t fixed in these cars as it’s target torque based.

What’s the max you would see at like 100 degree IAT?

Here’s a datapoint. This data is from last summer; I’ve had zero problems. The original map Bytetronik sent prompted the engine to boost waaaaay too high; they updated it to stay in a safer zone. Usually I don’t see any higher than 16. Below you can see a max of 18psi boost. Ambient and intake air temperatures are also charted.

(JJ and I have also chatted privately about this in the past, but I figure it is good general info to share.)

Horizontal axis is time (seconds elapsed from start of data log) not speed.

Anyway, no powertrain mods of any sort except the tune. It’s a little twitchy in sport mode, with a little bit of surge, but in normal mode it acts, well, normal. If normal is over 200hp, at least. :-)

I was pulling 22-23 PSI when i blew my B46. I seem to be pulling 17-19 PSI on the new update BT stage 2 map.

I am also running a Bytetronik stage 2 tune. I typically see 16-19 PSI in the summer, 14-17 during the winter. I have only ever spiked to 20.9 psi once. In all fairness (it was a 90 degree night and I did go a little nuts).

Cool. Looking for more data.

When i I had a bunch of tunes in the past, I recalled everyone at 22+psi or so.

Seems like motors are blowing so wanted to see what tuners are using now. Unless people are blowing motors from increased timing and not boost.

Last i spoke to BT, they said new Stage 2 maps rely less on boost and more on timing. Makes sense why this would be safer considering that these motors dont tolerate heat and detonation very well.

Ive been beating the s*** out of my car on the new BT stage 2 map (always using shell gas) and everything seems good so far... No holes in pistons yet!

Couple of years on now, but how has the meth kit been? Are you using snow performance? Lastly, are you using the washer fluid tank of did you put the tank in the back?
I'm running dervtech stage 1 and currently blending ethanol to E15 since fuel on the west coast of Canada isn't great.
