When I run my A/C at idle, my car makes a loud clicking sound. Seems to be coming from the vicinity of the supercharger. Yes, I have the pulley upgrade. I believe I have the latest software upgrade (from the dealer). Sounds almost like really loud valve clicking. I'm taking the car in on Sat. a.m. to have it checked out. Basically, it seems like the engine is trying to quit at low rpm -- i.e., stumble -- but is clicking also a symptom. Thanks in advance. JR

I'd love to hear what they diagnose the problem to be!

ticking huh? sounds bad, wish I could help. maybe cam noise?

If you don't get help from this forum or mini2 I would say call your dealer, and take it in 'after' taking off your new pulley belt.

It might noe actually be anything, but you make it sound scary. sorry for not actually helping any...

I found the problem! I looked more closely with the flashlight and noticed that what I assume is an engine stabilizer strut that has come loose on one end. when the AC is turned on, the RPMs drop enough to make it vibrate against the motor. Made it sound like a K-car! Will have the dealer fix it tomorrow. JR

Took the car in today. It was a quick fix, but was more serious than I thought. The loose part was actually the belt tensioner (the one that looks like a strut). I have seen similar setups that limit engine movment, so I assumed that's what it was. No harm done, but could have been bad if I kept driving it. If you hear ratting coming from the passenger side of the engine, check the tensioner. JR
