R56 TPM issue solved. Receiver not where you think!
TPM issue solved. Receiver not where you think!
2009 R56b base. TPM light on. All four TPM senders test good.
Thinking main receiver. Most sources, including the Bentley manual say it's behind the rear bumper. NOT ON MY CAR.
I found a damaged connection near the carbon canister in front of the passenger's side rear wheel.
Pelican parts erroneously indicates that this is the connector to the vent solenoid electrical connector.
IT IS NOT. It's the connection to the main TPM receiver. I fixed the connection and TPM works now.

Extensive searching on the internet led to one lone post where that location was mentioned regarding TPS.
I tried to pin it down by going to Pelican Parts. There, I saw the TPM receiver mislabeled as a vent solenoid, which should have confirmed to me that I was on the wrong track, but I found that bad connection and thought, give it a try.
The rest is history.
