Cell phone mount/holder

What's everyone using for a cell phone mount/holder? I have friends who have the clips that attach to the vents. But it's kind of tight to do that on the Countryman drivers side.

Should probably also mention this is for an Android Phone (Gen 1 Google Pixel) and I'd like to leave the case on it.

Thanks -
Steve

I use magnet mounts, either mounted in passenger's side center vent or CD player. Neither are perfect but both work.

I have not found an air-vent-clipped phone holder that works on my R60.
I'll probably try to 3D print a clip that will work :-)
Look at this amazon-deal-of-the-day wireless-charger-vent-clip, it specifically marked R60-style air-vents as incompatible:

Proclip has two. One is right side of heater console. No holes needed and the other is on the drivers side corner post trim again no holes needed. Both built well.

My brother-in-law bought me a Mob Armor mount a few years ago. That thing is very solid. I have the Gecko mount that suctions to the windshield. I use it a lot and noticed the other day that the suction cups were starting to dry-rot. I contacted them and they are sending me new ones for free. They have a lot of different types and shapes of mounts. They are a bit pricey, but worth it.

They also sell a little sticky pad that you can attach then the phone mount attaches with a magnet. Where I live (NC) that works great until it is 100 degrees with 75% humidity and the adhesive starts to give up.

I have this one from Proclip that I bought for my Countryman, but fits my Paceman too:

I have this smartphone mount attached to it:

I couldn't quite get the suction of the iottie mount to work correctly, so I just picked up the proclip mount.

Here is one I have mounted in my passenger side column vent. Works ok. Not designed to fit, but it does with a little determination. Phone height is good if using Navigation.

Another vent mount. Is secure but lack of articulation puts phone at less than optimal angle.

Vent mount

CD mount. Secure. I don't like the height and how it blocks the view of the control buttons.

Does it block any of the controls below? I never use the CD player so this one may be good for me (and transferable to another car).
Thanks!
Steve

This bracket is common on the latest F60 model of the countryman. I got to use one in a loaner while my R60 was in the shop.

It was fine. It did not block any vents or controls. Location behind the steering wheel may pose issues for some.
