Mini Cabrio and Golf

Getting close to tradiing in my 09 hardtop S and considering a cabrio. I often carry my golf bag in the back with one backseat folded down which is no problem. Actually I can carry two bags if needed. But I'm wondering how difficult it is to carry your clubs with a Cabrio. Are there any golfers out there with a Cabrio that can share with me how they carrying their clubs in a Cabrio? Can you slide them in the trunk by removing the trunk shelf? In the passenger seat, or putting the top down and laying them in the backseat?

don't the rear seats on the cab' still fold down providing a passthru from the boot? That's what I think I see in the owner's manual for a 15 .... (same book as came with our Roadster) ... there'a key lock ....

Capt bj - thanks for the response. And you're right in that the seats do fold down and it appears that you might be able to slide the golf bag in from the trunk. But also looks like it might be difficult as the opening is not very big. I just might have to take my clubs to the distributor and see how this is done! Thanks again

I pull the driver and 3 wood out of the bag, lay them down between the front of the seat and the back of the front seats then lay the bag down across the back seat no problem. The trolly lays down right across the bag...every day except weekends. Would a picture help?

The bag won't fit in the trunk (boot for us Aussies), my driver and wood mustn't be as big as Fly'n Brick ;>) as I can fit the whole bag and clubs across the bag seat (at an angle), the trolly fits in around the bag. The only issue is I have to remove the wind deflector.

Probably depends how large your bag is.

I use a lightweight Sun mountain three5 carry bag and there is no need to remove the trunk shelf. I just fold down the rear seats and the clubs fit in diagonally Dont really have to move the passenger seat in order to accommodate them. I do load them from the passenger seat back through the opening to the trunk, its much easier than trying to thread them through the narrow opening from the back.

It is a minor inconvenience to lift out the deflector while they are loaded and unloaded, but its worth it for the benefits of driving with the deflector.

If you have a larger (fatter) cart bag rather than a carry bag setup then it might be a tight squeeze to fit the larger bag under the trunk shelf in the lower position that allows the roof down.

Ive not tried to fit two bags in...

I have a Bag Boy cart bag (Revolver) which is large, but not as big as a 'staff' size bag. With the top and the rear seats in their down positions, and working on the passenger side of the car, I pull the driver out and lay the bag into the back seat area diagonally. I lay the driver in, running into the trunk area. If I'm using my push-cart, That gets tossed in on top of the bag. If it's raining when I get back to the car, I put the bag into the passenger front seat area, with the backrest of the seat leaning back a few degrees. The trunk area is for shoes, hat, jacket, *****, etc. It can be done, but, like my golf game, it's not the prettiest thing.
