I'm tormenting myself. Love my vintage Saab to death. It runs well but needs some bodywork. Love my VW Golf's quality and everyday driveabilty, but am so passionate about the Cooper S. My friend just picked his well-appointed S up from NY and I spent all day in it Sunday. Absolutely wonderful in every way. Please give me some direction, guys!!!
my friend's Cooper S:

my Saab 99:

my Golf:

I am spankin' new here, but I value the opinion of all Mini enthusiasts. Please give me your advice. Thanks!!!

While the SAAB and Golf are nice, this should be the EASIEST question of your life - though you might find people a little biased around here. Either that or wave at the rest of us as we go flying by....

while I'm at it, post some pics of your cars! I'm still in the research phase and am eager to see what's out there. Only seen a total of 3 Cooper Ss in the Detroit metro area (2 Dark Silvers, 1 Red w/ white wheels). If I buy one, it will be just like the above without the rally lights and stripes. Thanks for the replies!!!

This is obviously a Saab(sob) Story. that you ask this question on this web site means you have already crossed a major Golf in your decission making process. My advisea: QUIT THINKIN' ABOUT IT AND GET THE MINI!!

P.S.

don't forgrt to blink your lights at other passing Minis. It's a British sportscar tradtion.

Pfffftt. Sorry, but like the other have stated. It's a way too obvious of a question to ask. A '74 Saab??? Come on.
Just funning around. But you did ask for opinions. Tee hee heeeeee.
Trust us.........get the Mini. You won't regret it.
Cheers,

I don't know that saab looks fun.

I bet you love working on her too.

Can't you just get rid of the VW? How about extending your financing period?

Pebble.

Welcome to MInicooperonline.com!

I tend to agree with the last poster. I would keep the '74 Saab around. I think aside from it being kinda rare, it makes up for a very nice winter beater car. Besides, how much are you expecting to get for the Saab on a private sale? I don't think those cars are worth that much money to begin with, but I could be wrong.

Sell the VW Golf and get the MINI, you won't regret it!.

I think the MINI Cooper 'S' is a terrific car, but I would suggest for you to familiarize with its Pros and Cons before making a final decision. Also, test drive the regular Cooper...don't discard it just because it doesn't have a Supercharger bolted to the engine...it is also a very, very nice ride.

Have fun!

I agree with Pebble I think? Keep the Saab You are from new york right. Take the saab to the mall. use it during hail storms. drive it in the blizzards. Dump the golf/rabbit. and keep the MINI in a garage.
