Mini Cooper r53 tuning in Massachusetts

so I have had my mini for quite some time now, it’s a 2002 Mini Cooper r53, so far I have put on a catback invidia n1 catback exhaust, and just yesterday installed a header and cat delete along with a CEL fixer pipe for it and so far no light, hopefully it stays that way. BUT, I wanna take it a bit further with a pulley reduction, I just wanna do the 15 percent reduction because it’s a little easier on the motor, and I don’t have the money for the performance head. And also upgrade the injectors possibly, and lastly maybe an Alta cai? But yeah, I’d like to find a place or way to tune it on a budget, basically as cheap as possible but like, reliable haha. I wanted to do the byteronik kit but it’s way over budget unfortunately. And I don’t really have that sort of skill and don’t think it’d be the best idea to learn on my mini. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

I've not used them personally, but Bren Tuning comes recommended by many: https://brentuning.com

Jan @ RMW, or outmotoring via the link below, just buy the flash kit.. its easy if you have a windows PC, and Jan is very very very very knowledgeable. Its gonna be right around $700.

I bought this and never looked back, Iv been able to ask Jan questions along the way, hes going to adjust the tune to new swap once I decide what cam im going to put in it.

Cheers.

Well, they certainly used to:

I don’t know if/when they actually stopped supporting MINI, but I suppose it doesn’t hurt to give them a call to confirm, if you’re interested.

i would really love to go this route unfortunately I don’t have the cash. Wel do you guys think a tune would be recommended for a pulley reduction? Like a 15 percent? And maybe some slightly larger injectors?

You can run a pulley without a tune. You won't need the injectors until you do the tune. For the tune save up the cash and go with RMW.

awesome, that’s really good to know. Yeah maybe I’ll just go for the pulley for now and wait on a tune!
