H/K remote turn on

So I’m replacing the factory head unit in my 2006 R53 and before I do the job I have a question. I did some searching and know about the power antenna wire but one post says to run the amp remote turn on wire all the way back to the factory amp. I can’t find where to hook it to and there isn’t a closer connection than in the trunk? Eventually I’ll replace everything and not use the H/K amp but for now I need it. If it means anything it’s an Alpine deck. I have the connector all wired up other than one lonely blue/white wire and nothing to connect it to. Thx.

Dave

Ok it appears I would need an H/K enabler after reading a ton of posts on here. What a pain. Guess I’ll wait til I’m ready to do the entire system.

When you do get around to replacing the deck, make sure you use the remote amp turn on lead if the deck has both a turn on lead and a power antenna lead. The names are often used interchangeably in posts online, especially when a deck only has one turn on lead, but some decks with both will cut power to the antenna lead when not listening to the radio input/mode causing the amp to shut off.

Also, some cars don’t have motorized antennas but still need the power antenna wire connected because the car has a signal booster or amplifier for the radio signal.
