Remote amp turn on options in rear of car

I put a post in the sticky above, that ended with a few questions, but haven't had any bites. The main question I have left is, in a R56 with the base 6 speaker radio, what are my options for a remote turn on lead for an amp I will be installing in the rear area of the car? I have seen a few different things mentioned ("white power antenna wire" but I think that that was in reference to a R53) but thought somebody knew a real good option. I hope not to have to rip into the dash to get access to a dedicated wire for this, but if that is the best option I'll do it, anybody know which wire it would be?

Open to any advice.

Here's the post I asked some questions in.

Many of us used the 12v auxiliary input in the left rear of the boot as our remote wire. It only comes on in keyed position.

Unfortunately in a Standard Stereo car there is not Amp Turn On Line in the rear of the car.

Two options.

1. As toolazyforalogin said, use the lighter socket power it turns on and off with START/STOP.

2. Call or e-mail NewMiniStuff.com and get a wiring harness adapter. they have a few different types depending on what equipment you are putting in and what the final out come you want is. Their harnesses have remote turn on line, speaker level or line level outputs that can be extended to anywhere you like in the car. the only problem is that you have to take the dash apart and the radio out to get to the place to plus the harness in.

Thanks for the responses.

If I go with the easier (and cheaper ) of the two, the lighter socket, has anybody who has opted for this had any "popping" or "thumping" issues involved with system start-up/shutdown?

the popping typically arises from a bad ground (too long or not cleanly scraped down to the metal) - newer cars come with a coating over the metal - take a flat head screwdriver/chisel and chip it away before tapping a ground screw.
