Driving lights
Good day!
I am looking to get driving lights and was wondering what the view on it for someone that mainly drive in the city. My understanding is that it can only be turn on when your high beam are on, is that correct? If so, seem like a pretty steep price ($1k installed at the dealer) for me just to have it and barely use it.. love the look it gives the mini tho..

Yes, the factory lights as installed will only work with high beams. The factory light modules are a driving style pencil beam, so really only useful with high beams.
However, you could get an aftermarket set and wire them however you want.

I have the factory lights on y 2005 R 52 S and they seem pretty worthless to me. I am older and 'night' vision is getting more of a problem. I bought a set of highly modified replacement headlights (sorry, don't have the spec's handy) from Zachary Ta on F/B that turn night into day. If anyone wants the speck's and contact information, let me know. They cost $1,100. per set and are well worth it.

If someone has aftermarket one install, can you direct me where you bought it from and how hard was the install? Also, would the 'unused plate' beside the fog light, could it be used to have the on/off switch installed?

I have the led driving/rally lights on my 2015 JCW Hatch & although I leave the covers on most of the time when driving back roads at night or even on the highway WOW does it help me see better!
Every MINI needs rally lights! Non JCW’s can have fog lights so why complain about having driving lights that are only in with the high beams? You have the best of both worlds!

A few days ago, i made my own Quad Driving Lights Bracket using PIAA 05572 lights. I still have not made the electrical connection, I will post more images once i got this done.
The bracket is stable and it holds the lights with no issue, Also no noise coming out of the bracket install.
I did this bracket because VIP Customs said they will not produce their F60 bracket for this year and i just can't wait.
