I did a search on this but kinda sorta got my question answered. I want to ask specific questions hoping to end the confusion, for those that got them already:

1.) How much did you pay for installation?

2.) Do they only work with high beams? Can you also get them to work independantly?

I ask this because I just ordered my Mini from a new Mini dealer in San Antonio and the people there are so new at this they don't know much of what's really going to happen. I overheard/read that Driving Lamps were now a factory installed option. If that's the case I want them but if they want me to pay an extra $300 above the $400 they gotta be on crack. It's crazy enough I have to buy out of Houston since they charce $3k over MSRP here.

As always, any info is appreciated.

I'm paying WAY too much for my rally lights - wasn't an option when I first ordered so the dealer charges whatever they want. I think mine are going to run around $700. But I REALLY like the lights. I think they also come with a separate switch if I'm not mistaken. It's placement might be to the left of the steering wheel. Not exactly sure though. Don't quote me on that one. Oh, and the dealer said they take approx. 3 hrs to install.

I have them and bought the factory lights from minispares which is a british site. The price was 120 pounds which translated to $187 plus they charged me $40 for two day delivery. Final price was $227 and I was able to install them myself.

Most sites want around $385 for the lights and my dealer said it would take between 2 to 3 hours to install them, at $89 an hour for labor.

My lights are wired with the Brightlights and do not have a seperate switch but I was able to install them myself and I have no mechanical apptitude what so ever. Hope this helps and welcome to the site Delta72

Paid 3 bills for the lights from Classic BMW (factory lights) and cost 60 bones to have them installed when Coop was in the shop. And yes, you do have to have the high beams on.
