Extra crack and burble

Hi All,

Im looking to get frequent cracks and burble from my stock 2012 Cooper S. It does it already, but would like it more often and pronounced. How can I achieve that? Is it even possible? I don't mind changing the exhaust along with the down pipe, but not sure if it is gonna make a difference. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

An ECU tune is the ticket as it will pop burble much more as it is programmed into the ECU to make it do it.

Thanks for the quick response. I wanna avoid an ECU tune and prefer doing a hardware upgrade if possible. Any parts can you recommend I could buy?

any aftermarket HW upgrade you put on.. will need a tune to realize the benefit of the part

**factory exhaust from a JCW would be about the only thing I can think of.. Downpipe really makes all the difference, but thats a definite 'NO' if your not getting a tune to follow.

Hardware will make the car louder, but not going to make more crack and pop. It is built into the ECU to make the sound. So to get more of it modifying the ECU to have it make more is what actually it will take.

An exhaust will make the current pops you have louder, but not more.

I have an 11 JCW and deleted my resonator and can confirm the pop and burbles in a resonator less JCW system are amazing. They aren't as amazing as they are with tunes and a downpipe but it is nice. I also understand the S and JCW have different exhaust systems so take that with a grain of salt.

Since you have a JCW you also have JCW ECU tuning which gives you more pop and burble. Modifying the exhaust just amplified what you already had.

This is why I shouldn't respond to forums at 2:00a.m. I forgot that detail
