New to Oahu from Maui

Aloha!

Just moved over to Oahu for work. Looking for any suggestions for a good shop for maintenance here since I can't do anything at my new place. Thanks a lot.

Also, I got a Blue 04 MCS with white top so throw shaka if you see me between town and Kapolei!

If for just regular maintenance there are many independent shops that can do the work. Your MINI has been out for many years so basic stuff is straightforward.

Just call around, check yelp for reviews. BMW shops will work on MINIs no problem but rates may be a little higher.

The dealership rates are very high and not required for just maintenance stuff.

What work did you want done?

Welcome looks good.

Ask around the MINI club I know they have a couple guys that do good work that get parts from us all the time.

I know the 1st stage cooling fan isn't working so replacing that for this traffic. Then probably supercharger oil change cuz I don't think thats ever been done either (almost at 123k). Thats all I know needs to be done but I kinda want a expert to check it out. Possibly other small maintenance stuff/fluid changes for piece of mind. Mobotech maybe?

Supercharger oil change is lots of labor- consider doing water pump at the same time.

Mobotech seems OK- just ask them about working on MINIs.

You can ask Way at WayMotorWorks about things that need to be checked and replaced for your age and mileage.

Usually most of the suspension joints and bushings are worn out.

There is a MINI club, check the other threads

Hi guys this is Rudy, I've been in oahu for about 5 months, I'm having issues with my mini there's a noise coming from the engine it may be the water pump or supercharger. The car still runs but not as smooth as it used to. Im looking for a mechanic that works on Mini's or a reputable place that's not as expensive as the dealership. I live I Ewa Beach, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Shop for Mini in Honolulu

Mobotech is a fine shop
Victar the owners know MINI s well, he has a R53 stage 3 and a classic Mini.

He has been working on my R52 S JCW for the last 4 years does good work.

Local MINI club seems to be off again after a 3 month active meets.

If you see a R52 top down with a single silver stripe on bonnet and boot, silver union jacks down the sides and a union jack wind deflector give a wave back, they are rare now days
