PW/B MC - Order Placed

Placed my order yesterday with Joel @ MINI of Peabody after a couple days of back-and-forth on the spec:

PW/B
Anthracite Headliner (confirmed!)
Chrome Line Exterior (dealer swapping chrome mirror caps for black)
Cold/Premium Pkgs.
DSC
CVT (sorry guys!)
16" 5-Stars
Front Fog Lamps
Xenon Headlamps w/Power Wash
Rain Sensing Wipers and Auto Dim Mirror
Sport Seats
Black Leatherette
Chrome Line Interior
Anthracite Interior
H/K Sound
Driving Lamps
Black Bonnet Stripes
Auxiliary Audio Input
Aero Spoiler

Will also be adding XM Direct kit (gotta' have my XM!) and rear fogs when/if they become available.

Haven't received a production number yet, but am expecting a November build. Looks like it may be a Merry Christmas this year!

Nice combo. I personally think the PW/B looks best on an MC.

I had a November build on mine last year and picked it up on December 18th. It will be a very merry christmas for you this year as it was for me last year.

Good luck on the waiting...You can do it!

Sounds awesome, congratulations. I love PW/B, was my second color choice, after LY/B.

As regards them changing out the mirror caps for you, was that something they offered? I have the same problem, wanted exterior chrome, but I'm not hot about the chrome mirror caps that come with the package. I figured I might have to buy black inserts at the dealer, and do it myself, but I'm wondering if it comes off the boat black, and the dealer installs the chrome inserts, thus making the switch no real problem. It's not uncommon for some options to come shipped that way.

Either way, I'd hate to have to spend extra dough to get the mirror caps replaced, if I didn't have to.

P. S. I'd think the exterior chrome package, including the mirror caps, would look pretty cool on an all silver MINI. (That was my third color choice.)

My understanding is if you order the exterior chrome pkg. the chrome mirror caps are factory installed. My MA told me that they usually have some spare black caps around (from dealer installed chrome, UJ or checkered caps, I assume) and would give me the black caps+installation in exchange for the chrome ones. The black caps+labor (assume an hour min. charge) probably works out to close to what the chrome caps would fetch on eBay anyway so I figure it's a fair swap.

PW/B MC - Order Placed (update)

Just received an email from my MA with my production number!.

When I placed my order I had just missed their September allocation and have been waiting a month to get the production number. It all seems a little more "real" now.

In the email my MA said "We ordered your car for December". Not sure if this means it's a November build for delivery in December or a December build. Guess I'll have to wait for the Owner's Lounge to pick up my number so I can check status on the build date.

Anyway, I'm very happy to finally be "official" and am actually looking forward to the whole "tracking my MINI" phase.

Congrats!

I placed my order with Joel 10/3 for a HB/B MCS. Should be in the November build. I'm too impatient and have to check the owners lounge waiting for it to mover from "Ordered" to "Scheduled"

Hoping for a Merry X-Mass too. Maybe they'll put a bow on it if I pick it up that week

Thanks

Nice Pics. I wasn't sure how the HB dash would look (ordered anthricite) but after seeing those pics, I may change it.

Thanks. Yeah, I highly recommend the HB dash, the car just wouldn't be the same without it, it really adds a particular flair. Not too flashy but very, very cool. To each his own, of course, but it's my opinion that with a color as wonderful as Hyper Blue, it deserves to be seen throughout the interior as well. I tried to go with a strictly two-tone motif for the car, black and Hyper Blue throughout, interior and exterior, and I think it really looks great. Not too late to change your order if you change your mind! I recommend making them show you the printout with the changes, etc., so you can confirm everything is the way you want it before it's too late.

Thanks John.

Originally I was all set to go BRG/W, but something about the PW/B just spoke to me. (oh, and it's my wife's fav, so that counts for something )

The delay in ordering allowed me to get the anthracite headliner..if it had gone through in October I may have been out of luck.

Sounds like a fantastic MINI inside and out. Love that anthracite! Love that PW/B combo! Love that bling bling! Love that CVT! (...though I've never driven one, I've heard such great things about it, I'd love to try!!)

Enjoy your new MINI, the Pepper White/Black combo spoke to me from the website when I picked it out sight unseen back in June of 2002. I only saw pictures on the net and the color swatch at the dealer until my car came in.

I have never regreted it one bit, it is very classic color and the contrast with the black trim really shows off the styling of the car IMHO, much more then the darker colors. It also makes the car look larger.

I tinted my windows to add to the contrast and feel the tinting makes it look even better.

Good color choice! I love the combo, even though the black roof is hard to keep clean...
