I had my first test drive of an MCS.

Yesterday, I went to Prestige Mini in Mahwah, NJ., and was given the opportunity to drive an 05 mcc with 5 speed and an 05 mcs. The mcs is amazing. I had been undecided about getting the mcs because I did not want runflats and was concerned about not having a spare and the replacement cost of the runflats. Well I gotta tell everyone that after driving the mcs, my decision was made. If I have to buy runflats for replacement I will or possibly get a spare for the boot? The MA said it seemed like a drive a manual all the time. I hadn't driven a manual in over four years. It is so easy to drive and I think it is because the trans felt so good. The car is amazing, tight and handles incredibly. The exhaust note sounds terrific. There's no doubt, I have to get an mcs. After reading the posts about the ride of runflats and 17" tires etc., I was worried that the ride would be real rough. It had 17" runflats and I did not think the ride was too firm or rough at all. It will be that much better with the 16".

I gotta say, I don't want to take away anything from the mcc. It was truly amazing how at 70mph my hair was not blowing all over and I could easily hold a normal conversation with my MA. The new getrag felt great. I previosly drove an 05 mc with the cvt. I personally was very disappointed in the power, especially with the ac on. The 5 speed is a big difference. I could see how so many people love the mc and are very happy with it. That said, I think the mcs is the right choice for me. Everyone should go for a test drive.

You just made waiting for my MCSC that much worse.

I love posts like this. They remind me of how it felt the first time.

Congrats, Fidge, and enjoy that S you're getting.
