More blinkey lights!!

Anybody see this on Mini2? Wonder if it'll show up in the U.S. or if we'll have to fight for it?

Little News Story, On A"Nice" New Feature...
It was revealed at the recent UK launch of the MINI Cooper S Convertible and revised MINI range that at long last MINI were planning to introduce a new indicator to show when the water reservoir for your washer jets are running low.

The really nice part, is that the indicator is planned to be on the indicator stalk "tip", and will glow orange when the water level is in need of topping up! The indicator will oppose the optional (on most models) red flashing indicator stalk for the MINI OEM alarm system. This was originally going to be home to a flashing green light for the indicators, but this was ruled out due to various legislations.

That would be a nice feature. It's a convenience feature, and unlike some features that sometimes run afoul of (or are required by) some local or country ordinances, there is nothing that would crop up to prevent it from being used across all models. I see it as an 'evolutionary' addition of content to the MINI line to make the newer models more desirable, and maybe to get existing owners to trade up. I expect to see power seats, LED lighting and other new stuff offered soon, for the same reasons.

Yeah, that'd be a nice feature. ALMOST makes me wish I had waited to order. (Actually, it really would be nice. I wish they'd thought of that earlier.)

Power seats, what?! I've never had to readjust my seat much, so I've never seen the point of power seats, other than as a nice luxury item. Then again, I thought power mirrors were kinda silly...until I got a car with that option, and learned I couldn't live without it! (Same story with power windows.)

... but ya know... I'm a Saturday morning tinkerer. One of my weekend pleasures is to take my mug of coffee to the garage and "work on" my MINI. Not much of a mechanic, what I do is check the fluids, the tire pressures, and usually clean some part of the car I haven't lately. Indicator lights for everything would kinda take away my fun... (I know, it's just me. )

Dogspeed.
