Price: $1
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R53
Location (Region): Midwestern
Item Condition: Used

Looking for some decent adjustable rear control arms. Going to be lowering soon, and have already got adjustable sway bar end links. Figured I would get it all done with one shot so I only have to visit the alignment shop once. Let me know what you have and what you're asking! Thanks in advance.

Also if anyone has a front and rear strut brace let me know as well.

I'd avoid buying used suspension components.

Both the Helix and Megans are nice. From what I've learned, the Megans tend to be a little softer due to the bushings in the ends and the Helix are a little firmer because they don't use the urethane in the assembly. Helix is more common on autoX or race setups and Megans on daily driver with occasional track time. I personally don't mind the feel of the road so I would go with the Helix myself but Megans are well respected around here so you can't go wrong really.

My only experience with Megan anything was some springs for my previous car. They were good for 2 years then they were shot. They were good for those 2 years, but I think a set of springs should last a lot longer. Megan to me is like godspeed brand, some love them some hate them. If they look like they're built well and you're willing to give em a shot go for it, but if you're gonna spend 210 why not spend 20 bux more for a better brand. I'd go Helix.

...and FYI there is nothing wrong with buying used. Just be sure to get a good pic of anything you are interested in. Any GOOD seller will be sure you can see the product well. Aside from my rear trailing arm bushings and front lower control arm bushings I've bought all my suspension parts on the marketplace.. springs, struts, strut bar, rear control arms, SC pulley, crank pulley, intake, intake pipe and intercooler couplings all came from the marketplace. Even a couple sets of wheels. Nothing beats getting a good used part for half the price of new.

FYI
For me It's a mixed bag. There is a chance that "there is nothing wrong with buying used", but there's also a chance that there IS something wrong with buying used. Especially suspension components. I've had good luck, but more than once I've had bad luck, even with "good pictures". I'm at a place now where I can buy new so I do. If you want to buy used go ahead. I prefer new with a warranty. If you buy used and the part is junk you're stuck with it so really you save no money at all, you lose it. That's the risk one takes buying used.

Honestly, you are not 'stuck with it' unless you met in a dark alley and payed cash. With most sellers on here honesty is the best policy because we use PayPal. Paypal has protection and will get your money back if you have a valid claim. I would say 90% of the time nobody HERE has to file a claim because we are a MINI community and try to help each other out. Sorry if you have had bad luck with used parts or lost money but please don't rain on everyone else's parade implying the market place is full of scammers. *** more than once I too have had a part that either didn't work on my MINI or turned out I didn't need. Every time I have contacted the seller and they let me return the item. My cost for shipping of course but no real loss...***

I don't think I'm raining on anyone's parade but yours. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings.
N'er met in an alley, but did purchase via money order and had parts sent. I'm not saying the market place is "full of scammers". I'm saying there's a chance your used part or the seller is s*** and FAR less of a chance your new part will be jacked up/near end of life. Notice I also said I had good experiences, but with suspension parts I'd go new. Is it impossible to make statements about my own experiences without someone getting all upset over saying something that your experiences don't exactly line up with? Unwad your panties. #NEWPARTSMATTER (and have warranties)
