All Season Tires for 2013 Mini

Hey all, I currently have the Hankook Optimo H426 P175/65R15 tires, 60k mile prorated, and I only have 27k on them and they already need to be replaced. I do mostly highway driving with nothing crazy. I have the 2013 Cooper Hardtop.

Any recommendations on all season tires that will not wear so quickly?

Compare the ratings for those tires to the Optima 426:

Make sure you rotate for maximum mileage no matter which tire you buy.

DWS06 is the newer version on the same tire with better dry handling characteristics. the DWS is discontinued. What tire size are you looking for? How much snow do you deal with?

Being that you are in Nashville you may see some cold temperatures.

For longer wearing tires and comfortable ride you can try Grand Touring All Season tire class and you don't need to keep the 175/65-15 OEM tire size.

You can use 195/60-15 which fits the MINI 15" wheel fine and will give you a larger tire selection to choose from.

see
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...earDiameter=17
Of these the premium riding tire is the Michelin Premier A/S for $122 each.
Good handling dry or wet, OK in light snow or cold, comfortable and longer wearing (640 treadwear).

What is your budget?

If you must use 175/65-15 or are on a limited budget then-
Goodyear AltiMax RT43 for $68 each

Look at the tires that got worn out early, were only the front tire edges worn badly? If so then you would be better off rotating tires front to rear every 4000 miles since front tires wear out twice as fast as the rears if you don't rotate them.

Smaller diameter wheels rotate more per mile than larger diameter wheels therefore the rubber on the tire is subjected to more friction (wear) . Tire rotation (regardless of what MINI says) will make your itty bitty wheels/tires last longer. Double deuces on a donk will out roll yours by miles.

Smaller diameter wheels don't rotate independently of the tires fitted on them. 15-16-17" hardtop OEM tire diameters usually vary from 24.0 to 24.6". For reference, worn out tires are typically 0.5" smaller than new.

Wheel diameters are 15", 16" or 17" and will fit various tire sizes

Tire diameters are based on the exact tire size such as 195/55-16 or 205/45-17 which give you OEM tire diameters. Tire diameters can affect the number of tire rotations per mile.

I put Bridgestone Driveguard runflats 195/60-15 on my 12 Justa replacing the stock Contis. Have been very happy after @8K so far and much better in wet than the stock tires. Ride is as good as the stock 175/65-15 and better than the Dunlop wintersport 195/65-16 I use in winter (from my 11 convertible). I wont be putting much snow time on these but they are supposed to be all season.
