I have a 2004 MINI that just rolled 50,000 miles. I received the recall letter for the power steering pump.

I called MINI of Dallas about the repair. They said the parts were not in, so they would add me to the list and call when parts were available. Should not be more than two weeks. Okay.

Fast forward FIVE weeks... still no call. I called again. Oh, they have parts. When would you like to schedule for an "inspection"? Um, no. I need this repair done. And no apology for not calling me as they said they would.

I've had issues with MINI of Dallas before and am wondering if I should cancel the appointment with MOD and drive up to MINI of Plano. WWYD?

 

First, those are some really low miles for an '04! Impressive. Sometimes dealers don't have their ducks in a row and things slip through the cracks. Just my experience from working at one before. I am due for a recall on my vehicle as well that the vin qualifies for, but I first need to make an appointment for my vehicle to be seen and then they would order the part for the repair. It's not uncommon for things to work this way at the dealership. The nice thing is that they have the parts in stock, so after they view your vehicle they can do it right then and there.
