Hi all,
My 04 MCS is in a limp mode after a head gasket replacement. I check the electric current on the wire harness that connected to the throttle body. No current is coming from any of the leads. I turned the engine on and also disconnected the wire from the throttle body and the engine didn't shut off. The engine still ran in a limp mode. Do any of you think its a bad throttle body or a bad wiring harness connector? Are there fuse for throttle body? Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.
I think you might have sliced the main wire hareness when installing the head. I should have power,. Did you check all the Fuses in the engine bay and kick panel, then test the leads on the main wire harness. 12517533103

All fuses are good in the engine bay and side kick panel. Where about is the main wire harness lead? Another thing, it won't rev over 2000 rpm. If I do rev to 1500 and up the motor sound normal. Is there a DIY engine wire harness? If this is the culprit and an easy DIY I will be ordering this. Thank you for the part.
Before you spend a chunk of money on a wiring harness that you may not need, have you checked the ground under the 10mm nut on the driver side of the engine bay? It's on the strut tower. There is also the large twist connector on the driver side that can cause odd issues if not properly connected.
The throttle body connector can be a bit cantankerous if it's dirty, so try cleaning it and applying a small amount of dielectric to the weatherpacking.
Have you read the codes yet? That will also cut down on the amount of money you spend trying to chase a problem without a lead.

my car does the same kind of not revving over 2k rpm and it’s an r53 but with mine if I shut it off and pop the hood and wiggle the connector it sometimes will start other times I have had to clean the connector with a dental pick. Is this a problem with the connector or the throttle body?

did you have to program the Throttle body? I have a similar issue
The throttle body is not coded to the car, you can however reset it adaptations. You will have to google it but it was something like turn ignition off, do full throttle for 30sec and turn ignition to position 1.
