Urban Rally Adventure Build

Hi guys.. this is one of my first posts here. I'll admit, I wasn't sure what the title should be for this. Coming from the motorsports and rally world, I am inspired by the Prodrive MINI WRC (World Rally Championship) cars but I also like to take the car up the twisties into the mountains for some camping.

Either way, I hope you enjoy this build!

I actually bought this car on a whim.. I'm on a "wedding budget" and was in the hunt for something in the mid-teens with relatively low mileage, relatively late-model with RWD or AWD and a six-speed. I don't remember how I got on the topic but once I started researching the Countryman S, I knew it was my next victim. Within a week I had organized the one I was to buy and bought a plane ticket from Los Angeles to Seattle (not many All4 options in SoCal with specific bits I wanted like heated seats, etc).

After picking it up, I promptly put it through its paces out near the Columbia River Gorge and got very familiar with the nimble, yet hard to master the grip of, handbrake.

I picked up a friend in Medford and we had some more fun on the way back to LA. Photos now and more on the current status on the next post:

Loved the way these white wheels look on this WRC-Spec Mini so I thought I would go with white wheels on my car. Called up my friends at Fifteen52 and they got me laced up with some 18x9 TurboMacs..

Then yesterday I went to see my friend Junpei at Inno Racks to get my cargo solution sorted out. One of the first things I noticed with this car was how I needed some extra room for snowboards, camping gear etc so this will be perfect.

Grabbing some Nitto Tires this weekend for the wheels and the BC Coilovers should be here next week! Real stoked for this!

Thank you! I'm trying to find some time to pick up the tires this week but have to go out of town for work. Hoping next week to get the wheels and suspension sorted out! Stay tuned...

I guess I hadn't even thought about it. Where are you located and how much would you offer?

AJ!

I'm Jay, Brad B. connected us on InstaGram. Glad to see that you went with the turbomacs, and I saw on IG that the tires are already mounted!

I'm excited to see the fitment. I wasn't too sure if 18x9 would be too aggressive. I just got a countryman a few weeks ago, and I swore that I wouldn't be modding it since it's my daily. but I think it's inevitable... I can't help it.

I'm looking at throwing a set of white tarmacs on it. I'm also leaning towards a rally inspired setup. Hoping to see a lot more cars rockin' fifteen52s in the mini community soon!
