Favorite Motoring Music

I'm making a CD to take advantage of the cool stereo system in the MINI

So far I have

No Doubt (Hella Good)

Eminem (Lose Yourself, Business, Without Me)

Madonna Vs. Tone Loc mix (Music vs. Funky Cold Medina)

Puretone (Addicted to Bass)

Godsmack (I Stand Alone)

Boom Boom Satellites (Fogbound)

So, seeing the other thumpy tunes I am using, can anyone give me ideas for other songs of this type? I'm looking for catchy and thumpy and bass-y, maybe thats cheesy but who cares. But even I won't go as far as Britney or NSync *retch* I also like stuff like Rage Against the Machine, because they actually have some music along with the screaming. Really, I haven't checked out any music in a while, any recommendations would be appreciated.

Or you can just flame me for my mainstream choices. *ducks*

If you llike trance/club music which has that thumpy bass you like check out:

George Acosta - Next Level

If you like Godsmack you may like:

Saliva - Every Six Seconds (check out the song, "Click Click Boom&quot
Saliva - Back Into Your System ("Always" is their newest song)

I persoanlly like the first Godsmack CD better than the most recent one.

Fatboy Slim: Bird of Prey (that might not be the title, but it's track 3 on his latest CD)

and L.Mini can concur on this one:

Anthony Rother: Little computer people

actually all of the Anthony Rother stuff is good. It's bass heavy electro stuff, but it is awesome for driving....

I may be dating myself, but I recently picked up the Doobie Brothers' CD "Doobie's Choice" and the first track "Divided Highway" is awesome for the road song. Check it out.

P.S. L.Mini you're a doll face!! I like your Mini too!

Great songs everyone -

Has anyone heard the song:

"Small Car" by Marvin Pontiac?

If not, download yourself an mp3 of it, burn a cd and motor with it playing. You can't help but smile.

It's kickass to see so many Cake and Soul Coughing fans here. I guess it shouldn't surprise me that folks with good taste in automobiles would also have good taste in music.

Traveling Music... Always a fun topic of conversation!

At the risk of dating myself, here are a couple of "classic" road tunes I've recently enjoyed Mini Motoring with:

Highway Star - Deep Purple
Low Rider - War

Dating myself also, try "Eminence Front", Pete Townshend - The Who.

If you can keep it less than 100 MPH as the guitar kicks in, you're doing better than me.

NoBull, you have good taste!! I have a musical instrument collection and just sold my Rick - 4100s Chris Squire Bass.

Listen, if you want to hear something pioneering but will dazzle you for months, get Frank Zappas "Jazz from Hell" The routines will make you move!!!

Ah, Frank Zappa, one of the best musicians of all time. I will be sure to check out that track. Hey man, maybe you're the perfect person to ask...Zappa had one tune I heard years ago, but I haven't heard it since. I loved the tune but cant remember the name. All I know about it was the lyric "The girls got a very large mouth but her teeth look OK". Does that particular lyric ring a bell?

The ultimate driving CD- Dookie by Green Day! I also enjoy driving to Yes, especially Close to the Edge.
