R50/53 Favorite Motoring Music
Try anything from the Beastie Boys - Illcommunication CD. besides the typical Beastie Boys stuff there's some really cool instrumentals and some good stuff that's similar to Sabotage, there's two hardcore fast driving tracks called Tough Guy and Heart Attack Man.
If you like ambient dance with deep bass try an album called Behind The Sun from UK group Chicane. It's fairly mellow electronic ambient dance, but not as mellow as Deep Forest or Enigma. A great CD for a Sunday drive in the country.
I've also just bought the Ministry Of Sound 2003 Annual. if you're into dance then you'll love this one 2 cds of great stuff mixed by great DJ's. You've got to be in the mood for it though.
Keep Groovin.

There are soooo many...
Swingy Jazz... anything by Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Louis Prima, Nat King Cole..
Gypsy Kings is good too.... but do not, and I repeat, do not listen to it over and over again. You'll start going crazy. It is a great once in a while record.
Anything by Prince. Who doesn't like Prince??
Marvin Gaye.... Let's get it on.
And I think that NINE INCH NAILS is too much in the Hate Music category. MINI people should be HAPPY in their MINI rather than thinking head like a hole.

These are great, people, please keep them coming! I'm building a nice library of mixes here.
Speaking of mixes, does anyone have any interesting DJ mixes to suggest? One of my faves is a mix of "Music" and "Funky Cold Medina", it rocks.

Mark,
If you want some pretty good mixes do a bearshare (or other Napster Clone) for some Thunderpuss mixes. These two DJ's out of (?)CA mixed up some pretty good tunes. Everything from Whitney "I don't do drugs" Houston to Leanne Rhimes to Enrique Inglesies to J. Lo and Mary J Blidge. Some of it is pretty good crap.
Another "get your blood going" song I downloaded recently is Downfall by Trusted Company. For some reason I see myself tearing off a hugh cliff while on skiis when I listen to this song (sorry been watching Warren Miller ski movies lately).
Motor on, loudly

>>I may be dating myself, but I recently picked up the Doobie Brothers' CD "Doobie's Choice" and the first track "Divided Highway" is awesome for the road song. Check it out.
>>
>>P.S. L.Mini you're a doll face!! I like your Mini too!
>> >> cuny, you maybe dating yourself but i used to be their pilot of the doobie liner and the crewbie liner. most of their songs are made for driving. mcs brg i maybe a old fart but im still driven my soul with spirit.

Toots Thielemans (the Brasil Album)
Theloneous Monk
Little Feat (Waiting for Columbus, or ANYTHING by them)
