Good locations for meth meth/alky injection tank?

I've slowly been piecing together a simple alcohol/water injection kit from parts and pieces I've been picking up online. I'll be doing a post on it once it's all done......

I'm in the process of trying to find a good spot to mount my fluid tank....it's one of the smaller ones, maybe around 2 quart capacity. I gave up trying to find a place to mount it under the hood...there just isn't any room anywhere.

I've seen people mount it in the rear truck area up against the back of the rear seat, but every now and then I have to fold my rear seats down in order to get large items in the back of the car.

I'm thinking about mounting it behind the drivers seat on the floor.......I never have anyone in my back seat...not enough room really.

Are there any other good spots to mount a small tank like this? Some place where I can still have good access for when I need to fill it back up?

Thanks!

Done know if your car comes with it, but why not use the Windshield Washer Fluid Headlight Reservoir. That is what i plan on using when i get my WMI.

I thought about doing that, but there were two things that concerned me. I didn't know what kind of junk was down at the bottom of the tank after 13 years (don't want junk clogging things up)........ And with the tank outlet much lower than I could ever get the pump, I would have to run a separate booster pump to get the fluid from the tank up to the main high pressure pump. Not that it couldn't be done.....just seems like a lot more work involved.

I guess if it comes down to it....that would be the last resort.

what about in the passenger footwell? if you going to use a small tank, or get the xenon washer fluid tank and put that in, its on the opposite side as the windshield washer fluid

Thanks, I will look under the dash area and see if there is any space under there for it. I have the xenon washer tank for my lights.....just not sure I want to use it for my injection tank at this time.

Don't know what kind of system you got, but it not hard at all. The pumps that come with WMI kit are normally Camper pump with a sticker from which ever company you system is from. They are normally between 150-300psi, which will be the only pump you need. Also since the tank will be lower then the the pump, you will need is a check Valve.

Regarding concern with junk in the tank take it out and give it a nice wash.

Remove you driver side wheel and remove the liner and unbolt it. Wash it make sure there isnt any junk in there. Make sure to put the WMI level sensor and if you like take off the stock pump and cover the hole and put it back.

I already though of this, since i will be doing this in the future. I will be getting a oil accumulator and this was the location i was thinking of putting it in as well, just need to see how much room i will have and how to hook up the accumulator since this doesn't have a conventional oil filter.

I guess a check valve would work to keep the pump primed, as long as you could get it primed the very first time. If I can't find a place to mount my tank, I'll look into using the xenon sprayer tank.

The check valve is made to stop siphoning from happening. Also don't forget to mod the tank so you can put the level sensor.

The tank already has a level sensor. Whenever I'm low on meth, I get the 'Low Wiper Fluid' warning. Just wish I could fiddle with it to say 'Low Meth'.
