Front Brakes Done !

Wow ...was very easy Job ...Thanks to "how to Video" on Internet ....Very proud of myself ..will only cost me after the Rebate $90 Bucks...New Brake pads and rotors .. ....compared to a garage charging me more ..How much does the Mini Dealership or reg Garage charge for a front brake job nowadays? ...Just checked out Repairpal.com and the average price for a 2006 Mini Cooper S in my zipcode is $411.00 to $639.00........So glad i am mechanically inclined

Congratulations! Did you do both front and rear? Bleed the brake fluid, too or is that for another day? There's so much that folks can do on their MINI's themselves, save a bunch of money and learn to take care of their own vehicles.

Thanks !.... Just the fronts the rears still had meat on them ...but im thinking its wise just to do the rears as well ...no need to bleed the brakes i changed out the fluid last year so its fresh ....I think we all love saving money ....so far i saved alot because i did the power steering pump myself and changed out the upper motor mount myself and the basics changing the oil and oil filter ,spark plugs and air filter

The hardest part of the journey is the first step. Brakes and oil changes are the place to start. Start assembling the right tools with a good torque wrench near the top of the list.

And it feels sooooooooo good.

It used to feel good, now it mostly just makes me sore lol

Good job op, I understand shops need to cover other costs but they really jack up the price on one of the easiest jobs to do on a car.

Congrats on a job well done. For your next job be sure to check out our tech articles. They're very detailed and have a lot of informative information. Most of the time when shops or dealerships quote you they're basing their labor times off of a database. Pricing also reflects on what their labor rates are and parts pricing. As you've learned, DIY + cheaper parts pricing online can get you the job done for much less.
