Oil Catch Can with JCW strut brace?

I'm thinking about getting a catch can, but have not seen any installs where owners also have a strut brace. Does anyone run one with their JCW strut brace? If so, which brand?

I think you might be ok. If you look at post #8 HERE the individual is running a CC and a strut brace as the can sits further back by the intake.

catch can

Hi Timski,

Sorry I don't see in your pic where you have your catch can, is it located on the left side.

Sorry. I know it's not the best pic. The only one I have on my phone. You really can't see it from the pic. Point is the catch can is lower than the M7 strut brace and located between the strut brace and the firewall. Plenty of room.

Oil Catch Can with JCW strut brace?-image-3850827046.jpg Here is a better view of where the catch can is before I installed the brace. The other pic is with the brace. Fits in just fine. You can see the black catch can right behind the valve cover. But keep in mind I have the DOS CAI. I removed the JCW air filter box so I have extra space but the M7 brace I have is the 2nd gen version which is curved more to fit the factory air box.

Sorry, still not the best pic. But you're right you no longer have the stock airbox, so I still don't have a good idea of how much clearance I might have. There are two points to mount but I think the only one that will work is the one on the right.

Sounds like the consensus is that it will fit, but would be tight and not much clearance. How do you empty the contents of the catch can? I haven't gotten that far yet with reading the instructions, can I unscrew the top and syphon out liquids/oil?

For the M7 one's, all you do is simple twist the bottom fitting connected to the clear hose on the right below and it'll drain out.

If you look at the install instructions you'll also see a different mounting position for it. Look below.
