The issue I have with my shifter started out off the blue, one minute it was shifting fine and smooth, the next minute got hard to move and it's very hard to get into third gear All other gears are ok and there are no noises or other problems. I looked inside the shifter cassette and everything looks fine. Is the problem inside the transaxle shifter mechanism?
If anyone has had this issue or knows about it, please help me out.

Check the lug base connnection of the cable first then the shifter cables on top of the transmission. The shifter cables can bind form rust in the cable and also the nylon busing can stick or separate from the cable end loop hole.
