Error code P2065

Hello guys, I have this P2065 - Fuel level sensor "B" circuit error show up on my ODB II reader which I'm not sure what to do. So my car is a 08 MCS, it starts up fine with no misfire or cold start issue. The only thing I think the car is acting weird is when my oil gauge passes the half tank mark. the bar drops a lot faster than the first half tank. I'm wondering if it's only problem with the sensor itself or something else. Thanks for the input.

I am getting the error P2068 - Fuel level sensor B circuit high on my 2013 JCW that I just had shipped from WA to CA. I can't get the car smog certified because it shows a pending ECU fault, so I'll have to take it to the dealer to figure out what's going on.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was?

As for the fuel kernels dropping faster, the fuel gauge is not linear. The first 3 or 4 kernels represent half the tank (3 gal, then 2 gal, then 2 gal, then the rest are 1 gal kernels).

No I didn't bother to do anything to it yet. I don't feel anything different other than the fuel level gauge is not accurate. But I do feel P2068 code is more serious than the P2065.

From my research, the only thing I can tell is that it's very similar to yours regarding fuel level sensor B. The high voltage error means something's causing it to read as full or beyond full. My gas gauge works fine though. I think in terms of drivability, this error does not pose a threat besides potentially running out of gas if the gauge is reading incorrectly. I cleared the code a week ago and so far it hasn't come back so I'm hoping it was just electrical bugs. This car has 9,000 miles for goodness sake!

Looping back on this for future reference - I went to the dealer after I got the CEL again. They were able to confirm that the right fuel level sensor was faulty so they replaced it and the car is good to go. I think it would have cost around $400 without warranty and it seems pretty intensive to get into the fuel tank and replace the sensor.

Yes it's the passenger side and the fuel filter is there as well. I would have to check the paperwork and see what part number it is but I don't think they replaced the fuel filter, only the sensor.
