Mounting 7" Gamin Nuvi

I just installed a 7" Garmin Nuvi GPS and backup camera in my 2012 Convert. Really helps rear 'viewability'. Right now the unit sits on the dash with a beanbag mount that slides around and falls at the most inopportune times.

Has anyone come up with a good dash mount? I saw the Cravenspeed arm for cellphones that attaches to the tach. Do not know if it will work with the R57. Anyone using it?

All assistance is greatly appreciated. I am running out of hands trying to drive, grab the GPS, read my Kindle, and eat my foot long sub at the same time.......

If the 7" Garmin Nuvi has the same 1-3/4" disc-with-a-peg mounting as smaller Nuvi units (see below) I would recommend the Mini XL portable navigation mount - not the whole navigation unit, but just the mount (item 2), part number 65902351406. With a 7" screen, you could probably only use this at the 12 o'clock position above the tacho, so you would need to check that this wouldn't obstruct your forward view (it wouldn't for me) - if you swung the mount to the sides, it might well overlap the tacho. It's a decent mount that ought to take the extra size/weight of the 7" screen. The mount includes a power cable that runs inside the mount to the car's wiring, so there are no trailing cables. It looks sufficiently OEM in my Roadster that I leave the nav unit in place when parked with the roof down.

These look like to two best options I have seen so far. Having trouble finding the torx screws on my tach. Do not know if they are further hidden due to the stupid little "Openometer" for the convert. Not the best feature Mini has come up with. Would rather have had a boost gauge there, but then no one asked my opinion....

Will research the screws further, and see which of these will work best, or maybe build one from some carbon fiber sheet.

Thsnks.

Adjust the steering column to nearest you and fully down, when you will be able to see the vertical torx screws that secure the tacho to the column - it's easier to undo those then twist the tacho to get at the screws in its back.
