Hardwire Garmin nuvi 58LMT?
Purchased a GPS Pro Mount from CravenSpeed of an F56 and it came with a socket that can be hardwired. CravenSpeed doesn't have a wiring diagram yet for this model.
You would think that for over $90.00 you could at least have that?
Has anyone hardwired a Garmin yet?

I agree that for $90 the install details should be better, but they do offer instructions online - http://www.cravenspeed.com/product_i...wiring-kit.pdf
Mine didn't come with any T-taps but they're available at most hardware stores for a few bucks. Also, the wires on mine weren't labelled properly so I had to use a continuity tester to see which was positive and which was negative. You really won't find a definitive answer online as to which is which so I highly recommend you check the wire polarity yourself before installing, but the wiring in the car should be obvious as to which is which.

Check the the install for the MINI Click & Drive, you should be able to use the same wiring. It uses a lighter socket dongle that is wired up to the Body Domain Controller in the kick panel. The a lighter socket dongle is zip-tied to a USB lighter socket adapter.

Attached is a scan of one page of the official Mini instructions for fitting their portable navigation unit. This is just a re-badged Garmin Nuvi unit, so the power consumption will presumably be the same as yours.
The connection is to the wiring going to the OBD connector and the colours are:
red harness wire to green/blue (pin 1) OBD wire
black harness wire to brown (pin 5) OBD wire
This must be an ignition-controlled supply as my navigation unit powers itself down when I switch off the ignition.
