BRebels's 2003 MCS "Winston"

Couple of weeks ago I purchased "Winston",a BRG/W 2003 MCS with 58k miles.
The car was in very good shape but as with my past car purchases, there's always something that needs fixed/repaired.

So I made an appointment with Ian @ Maitland Importers in Orlando to give the car a "once over" and then I'll be able to figure out a plan of attack and deal with the most crucial repairs first, then begin some mods after.
Power Steering hoses,Ignition Wires,Spark Plugs & Air Filter were replaced.
This week repair: Oil Change with Fumoto Drain Plug

& replace Oil Filter Stand Gasket.
After that, the other work will be Front Control Arm Bushings,Engine Mount & replacing Stabilizer Link on Rear Sway Bar.

After discovering that my car was prewired for 6 CD Changer,I decided to pull my Audiovox(DICE) Mediabridge out of my BMW & install it in the Mini.
Rather than run the cable loom to the glovebox,I decided to keep it in the boot.

Here's a short list of things I'd like to do:
-Fender Flare Clips
-Aluminum coolant reservoir

-Strut Tower Brace
-Rear Sway Bar
-Adjustable Coilover
-Replace Speakers
-W/L OBDII Scan Tool

I'm glad you named yours Winston. I originally named mine that, then I decided Baxter was more fitting :-) very curious about your audiovox setup. Will check this out for sure!

It really is a great way to integrate into your car's existing system.
And the price is not too shabby.

Nice car! Mine is pretty similar (minus the lights). Also have a pretty similar list of things to do! Good luck and can't wait to see progress.

Thanks JABowders!
Really enjoy learning about this car and once I take care of the belts, hoses & fluids, then I can relax a bit & feel more confident in taking a long road trip.

Recently had the following work done after I noticed the coolant reservoir had developed a leak.
-Asked that they replace they replace the Thermostat. Good idea, because they found it stuck open.
-Had them change out Coolant System Connectors.
-Replaced the Coolant Reservoir.

Oh & the CV Joint Boot (Left) was replaced after the mechanic noticed it had started to tear.

Tired of the blank emblem badge, added a vinyl replacement.
Going to add a lil bit of black paint to fill in the gap between the vinyl and emblem badge

Loving the BRG!
Sounds like you've made some excellent progress
Your list of detailing supplies is quite comprehensive as well. Have you done much detailing work ?
I'd be interested in seeing some pictures of your process.

Thanks!
P.O. left some pretty bad swirls on the hood.
When I arrived at Autogeek, they came out to my car and took a look at the paint & advised me what pad and product combo to use.
I'm probably going to tackle the detailing in 2 weeks.I'll post pics when I do.

Powerflex, nice choice! Good luck with the detail. Looking forward to the after pictures. Don't forget to take some good shots of the paint before to compare once you're done. It's always pretty eyeopening seeing how dramatically a good polish and wax can bring your paint back to life, especially living in a place like Florida!

UPDATE:
Been a while since my last post.
Since then I have purchased a house downtown Orlando. The bad news is that due to HORRIBLE traffic & the stop and go which has made my knee sore daily,I am looking at selling "Winston".
If anyone is interested in a relatively low mileage Mini let me know. I'm looking at selling it fairly low as I just don't have the additional space.

I will post in the classified section soon.
