How much should I pay?

Hi all, thank you for all of your responses for my last thread. I have located a few dealers who are willing to talk to me about getting a new 2005 MCS. But all of them is trying to charge a dealer mark up from $3000-$6000. I live in Los Angeles. Is this normal? And where can I get one without any mark-ups. To me paying dealer mark-ups are a crazy thought.

I haven't talked to them in some time, but Long Beach Mini wouldn't charge a mark up. This tends to make their list longer though. Give them a try.

I have bought two MINIs from Long Beach. Their sales department is awesome, but I believe they have a very long wait. If you are really anxious to get a MINI fast, check out Classic MINI and MINI of the Hamptons, both sponsors of NAM. Go to the home page here and click on the link for sponsors, scroll through, and check it out!

it's not how much should you pay but how much are you willing to pay. You shouldn't think of it as a markup but an adjustment for demand. As supply is low and demand is high the price will increase on all goods. sorry for the econimics lesson but you shouldn't feel bad for paying a "markup" you do it every time you fill up your gas tank.

nonsense. Never pay more than you have to. Buy from Mini of the Hamptons for MSRP and pay extra for the shipping. California can be crazy with bidding wars and such. I know real estate is like that there. With cars like the MINI at least you have options.
