What happened to CAI makers

I cant find dos or anything other than DDM. Is DDM the only one still making them? I'm new to the seem so forgive my lack of knowledge.

Trying to find best bang for buck CAI.

Type in the search bar at the top on the forum, "CAI", and "intakes". You'll get plenty of information on them. It's been discussed 10,000 times trust me.

If looking for a quick idea where to start I posted an Excel sheet I'm working on. It's certainly not end-all & is still being built but should have some decent starting info for a lot of them. Intakes are one of the first tabs at the bottom.

ill take a look at that link thanks. as for posting a link to google. I can do that too.

What is disappointing about you posting that is I came to a forum to ask opinions. Not smart remarks. If I wanted to wonder the internet aimlessly I would. But I figured why not ask people that have been in the mini scene for awhile.

The problem with the search bar and searching google is finding threads that are years old.

Hence why im reading about DOS cai and cannot find a supplier anywhere.

So you can go troll on someone else's thread. If you don't have something helpful to say then just move on.

Congratulations if you have enough spare time to shift through pages of year old threads but I don't.

I really do appreciate you though aelwulf.

CAI really don't do much. Perhaps that's why they are a dying breed.
I spent hours measuring air temps around the engine compartment and the air intakes for my R56 JCW and found very little difference. If u r looking for some noise; a DOS system seems best to me.

You will have to find a used one that some member is selling. I got lucky, and traded for one. No regrets here

What you call trolling I call (laziness) you wanting everyone but yourself to do the research for you all because you don't have enough time to do it yourself. Excuse me but you are taking advantage of everyone here on this forum, are you sure you're old enough to drive? It's time to put the big boy pants on. I mean you have to grow up sometime...

Funny TVPostSound, if he has enough time to install a CAI he has time to use a search engine.

DOS has closed up shop due to personal reasons, which is why you can't find them new. You'll have to get lucky on the marketplace. Some of the top options are AEM, NM Engineering, and the JCW intake box.

I'm running the AEM CAI and like it. If you want any more info on it I suggest you use the search function. Do your own homework/research like everyone else has had to do. If you don't want to spend the time, I'm not going to do it for you.

Thank you everyone that has posted something with information. I do appreciate it.

To everyone else stop wasting your time and post somewhere else. If you think I should use the search function fine. I don't need your input here. Enough said stop posting.

I'd stick with stock or the JCW intake. There will be no real performance benefits to be gained otherwise. Of course if you want more noise, feel free. I have the AEM intake. Its louder while still being a mostly closed intake.

I'd say JCW Intake or stock for the low end pep.

There are plenty of Intake options for the R56. You hear the most about the DDM because it's the most popular, and fits well.

We have a full section of different brand intakes on our site to give you options. And if you have questions feel free to call us and we'll discuss the differences and help you pick one.

I lost that low end pep when I install the AEM system, this is why I went back to stock although I plan on upgrading to the JCW intake.

I had a DIY intake(basically a K&N intake) on my N18 but went to stock with a drop in filter because it doesn't draw as much attention as the intake did.
