Sat Nav/Media/Displa

**I posted this in the 'Nav & Audio' section, but that seems to b e a rather stale section. Hoping to see if I can get some more help in here. Sorry**Before I decided to post this I have done my fair share of searching the web for an answer to no avail. Maybe my wording isn't correct. Anyway... Got in my 2011 MCS after work today, started it up, to my surprise the display had defaulted back to the "home" screen...and everything was in Dutch. The only Icons showing are: CD/Multimedia, Radio, Settings, Onboard Comp. & Nav (which cant be clicked or bypassed to get to by the button next to the ****). So after checking all my options under Settings and getting it to switch back to English, which the only option is UK, no US (another problem). The only controls on the steering wheels that work are volume up and down. Phone is still connected over Bluetooth and I can make calls using my phone and still talk via the car. Can anyone help me with this? Really hoping this isn't going to involve going to the stealership for an update or something. Thanks!

No help...but posting to bump your thread.

Very strange. Never heard of this happening. I've had the Nav option in my last two MINIs and experienced nothing even remotely comparable.

Well thanks for the bump! I did some running around after it happened and every time I started the car back up it defaulted back to Dutch, which is at the top of the list. So that was leading me to believe it was losing power and unable to save any settings. To my surprise when I went to leave for work today it had reverted back to working like nothing ever happened. So now I'm left to feel like the boy who cried wolf. Unless of course it happens again...

Check the battery voltage. You are in Florida and the sun and heat can do a number on batteries.

Thanks and let us know what you find out.

Just went out and tested: just over 12v not running and just over 14v running. And to my surprise the system had reset back to dutch again. After it was working fine when I went to lunch no more than 30 minutes ago...

And I started wondering if it was a battery issue yesterday. Like maybe it turned all the fun stuff off because of insufficient voltage. Saw this while testing the voltage.

Yea, like its cant keep memory. I would inspect that battery some more on the cables connections, make sure they are on there and tight. Terminal should be all the way down on the post. Possible run a load tester on the battery. I know Florida MINIs can go through the batteries. The MINI dealerships can read more in-depth on the voltage in the computer system and tell if its been low for a while or problems.

Looks like black = insufficiently charged ?

Thanks

Thats what black means according to the sticker. Going to hit the Advanced Auto on the way home and see what they have to say. The closest Mini dealer is a bit of a trek especially with working until 5pm and the 4th being tomorrow. Will do some battery inspection before i head over there to double check. Thanks!
