tube blew off...what should i do?

while accelerating onto the freeway today i noticed a loud hiss (almost like a BOV) and immediately my car lost power so i pulled onto the shoulder. after popping the hood i checked all hose connections and found the tube leading to the noisemaker came lose right at the Y-connector on the charge pipe. i reconnected the tube and went about my way babying my coop home. is there anything i should be looking for to ensure no further damage is done??

Also ive been looking to do the Noisemaker delete anyways so could anyone tell me the dimensions of pipe ill need to replace the noisemaker Y-connector with a straight pipe (length and diameter?)

Meh, doubt anything was damaged. I've had that happen before on a modified Subaru Forester SXT. I reconnected it and went on my way for another 100K miles till it spun a bearing. I did change the worm screw hose clamps to t-bolt hose clamps for extra grip though.

I had my discharge pipe come off while at the track before and I went into limp mode. Full bumper had to come off in the pit and reconnected. Happened again and just hampered my day. Ultimately I got the NM pipes and haven't had issues since...Obviously this isn't the same issue though...

I've had my Turbo Inlet Hose pop off a few times and was assured by the local Mini SA that no damage would be "likely" unless you were off road in a dusty environment.
Makes sense...
If the ECU can't figure out the A/F ratio because of a huge leak in the intake, it will either sputter and die or go to some safe default value. Near no risk of damage.
Dirt and dust bypassing the filter assembly is a BIG problem on the other hand. In my case I drove some 10km in that state and am less than concerned but certainly annoyed that it happened.... I now know the symptoms and the fix.
As long as you don't repeat many times you should be ok - I assume you didn't off road or drive through volcanic ash?

thak you all for the assurance. its been a good day now and after a few hours on the open road all seems to be fine. my next question is i would like to swap out the charge pipe entirely now to eliminate the noisemaker. now i know NM makes a new pipe however i would like to fabricate a setup myself and save a dollar. Are these forge hoses the same (not exaclty the sam but same usage) as
those found on the ends of the NM pipe?

You can do that, or just plug in the 1" pipe that feeds the noise-maker duct and be done with it.
Many ways to accomplish that, I ended up using about $5 worth of hardware plumbing supplies from Home Depot.

Works like a charm.
No perceptible noise or performance change that I can detect to date.

DIY. Why spend $ on a blue pipe when you can plug it with a stopper and tighten it down. Just don't tighten TOO much or you could split the plastic tubing. Then you'll be SOL and need that fancy blue pipe.

decided to go with a black pipe and some fancy blue samco hoses instead. Could go with the stopper but wheres the fun in that. stay tuned, my hoses come in tomorrow and soon i should have some pics of the custom pipe.
