Replacing seal at bottom of windshield

Hello - new owner of 1 2010 Justa here. It seems the harsh sun around these parts did a number on this particular seal and I would like to replace it. Could someone kindly offer me some guidance as to what this is called and perhaps a place where I could get a replacement? Thanks and I love this car!

Its part of the hard texture windshield cowl. Th edge of the cowl toward the window is rubberized and is connected to it. Also since it looks pretty faded it will restore the black plastic look again, like new.

Here is the full kit with the install hardware. We have them in stock ready to go.

Here is the cowl diagram to show the parts locations for install.

PS: Like the Pepper White .

Thanks

Thanks! I didn't know that was part of the cowl.

Replaced mine too, it's very easy. Bummer my car is garage kept and only 6 years old, yet this was already falling apart and my headlights are starting to look bad too. My truck is holding up much better...

semi-related question for folks who've replaced theirs, when your seal was gone did you notice and water intrusion in unexpected places, or musty smells when it rained? I need to replace my cowls ( they're sitting in a box here, just need to get it done) and have noticed the above. Wondering if that could be a factor.

I didn't notice anything, but it also rarely rains here...

I noticed some musty smells but that's because the cabin filter is accessible from underneath the cowl.

Check the cabin filter , if its dirty , replace it and wipe out the interior of the box with a mild cleaner.

We have the active carbon filters here for the cabin filter:

75 bucks? That's a steal for a massive improvement. I'll be ordering mine too.

That looks really bad. I have a 2008 and it is garaged and still looks brand new.

I installed the part today. there seems to be a bit of a gap between the seal and the windshield on the driver's side. I moved some of the parts around for 20 minutes and could not get it flush. Is there a trick to this?

Typical BMW crap. BMW has issue with that stuff on all their cars.

Has anyone who's replaced theirs had any trouble installing the passenger side panel? the drivers side seemingly fits fine, but i cant seem to get the passenger side one "clicked" into place. I can jam it in, but it doesn't stay for more than a few min and comes loose. Any advice??

Yeah, look underneath. There's a big plastic bit that gets hung up on stuff. It'll make sense when you see it.
