Looking to buy 2011 S

Hey guys, new here. Looking at this 2011 mini cooper s. It has 20k mileage on a lease return. Car is manual, has mini connect without nav. As far as other options, i do not know. Couple questions. They are asking 20k for the car with certified 100k add on. Does this seem like a good deal? Also, are these upgraded wheels? Can you tell from this exterior picture if there are any other add-ons I haven't noticed? Thanks for the help!

it looks like it has some chrome pieces on it, as you can tell from the rear fog light surrounds and the mirror caps. and given that there's no moonroof, this car does NOT have the premium package. that's about all i can tell from the pics.

Ok cool. Not to familiar with the older models as my initial intention was to lease a 2014. Any idea on these wheels? Are they the standard model? Also anyone have any idea if the price seems fair? Last question would be about sport mode switch, was that standard for this years S model? Thanks again

i think those wheels are an upgrade, as they appear to be 17", and stock wheels were 16". those 17" wheels could be just upgraded wheels, or it could be part of the sports package, which included an upgrade to 17" wheels. the sport button is on all cooper S models (and maybe even non-S models).
as for price, i personally think it's a bit on the high side. the car is 3 years old, albeit with low miles. i have an a/t 2011 MCS that's pretty much loaded with everything but nav that i might look to offload in a couple months. i'll be ecstatic if i can get $17k out of it. but then again, you're buying from a dealership with 100k mi warranty, right?
here's a good link with a list of all the options available for 2011:

Minus the 17" wheels and chrome mirror caps, I don't see any optional equipment on the car. There's no pano roof and thus no Premium package, as someone was saying. The other big packages are Sport and Technology. Technology is easy: look for a sat-nav unit. Sport would include the 17" wheels and HID headlights.

If options are important, look elsewhere. Optional equipment depreciates quicker and so there's not much of a price difference between a well equipped Mini versus a base model. We're talking a few hundred dollars, maybe $1,500 if it's a big difference in equipment.

I got this 2011 Mini Cooper S with 27,000 miles on it. It is well equipped for $17,000. I love my car!

I can give you a build sheet if you have the last seven digits of the vin number. I could not find the car on their website.

That is not a bad deal at all and it looks very nice,

It only has 20K mileages (worth a couple of grand), the N18 engine (a good performer), looks like it has the sport package with 17" wheels and should have HID headlights, the chrome package, and most important your getting a Mini certified car with 100K warranty (worth a couple of grand). Ask for a Carfax to make sure it has no damage history and truly is a one owner car, ask for the service records to review and if you can get the price down some all the better.

Hope this helps, good luck and happy motoring....

awesome thank you guys. Im interested to see exactly what options the car has. I drove it but was more interested in gauging the engine performance, clutch and shifter, so I was not paying too much attention to my surroundings. I will plug the VIN into the archive to see if the 20k tag is justified. Waiting on the carfax via email as well.

TwinCoopers, are you by any chance named Damon, a Mini mainline salesman, currently in negotiations with me about buying a certain 2011 mini cooper?

No roof. Not automatic. Outgoing model. That retail price is about 2000 too high. Trade in value is around 15,000. Probably a solid car, not a particularly great bargain.

Not sure where you live, but heated seats are nice as well as auto AC. The extended warranty is nice, be sure what is covered. I would anticipate that the N18 will have the same oil leak issues as the N14, and you should specifically inquire about carbon cleaning. See if the maintenance is covered under this as well (oil changes, brakes).

Use the comments here with a grain of salt, everyone has opinions. If this car is very nice, and you are happy with the options, then enjoy it. I think that Laser Blue is great on these cars, but I'm partial to the black roof....

Have fun,
Mike
