I was at the dealership yesterday and did not like it either. At certain angles it's fine, but the attached pic shows a particularly terribad one ( i bumped the exposure in Fotor a bit so it's clearer). Overall, I really don't like the front end.

I hope MINI doesn't over engineer the Clubman Concept front end like they did with the F56. Fingers crossed.

I saw it in person last week - agreed on the front end. I thought the interior was upgraded nicely - fit and finish was very good. And from the MA that drove it for a bit, he says it's a much tighter car. BMW engine sounds noticeably different. And better.

I wonder if that front end is a result of trying to make it withstand front impacts better?

Checked it out. Hate the scoop because it doesn't integrate with the contour of the hood. Hate the grill especially that gloss black thing. Don't like that the headlights appear to be more laid back.

Yeah, I'm not all that endeared to the front end either.
Kinda like the intakes
The hood scoop is ok
Not a fanboy of the lights
But in wanting to compare apples to apples, instead of apples to walnuts, I threw in my 2 cents.

The Mrs. has the '12 R56S and she wants nothing to do with the F series.
I'm a '14fJCW R55 man and am VERY happy I got in on the last of the Gen 2's
Not digging the whole idea/concept of what MINI is doing with the Clubman.

F56 looks pretty nice, but i dont like its standard rear view mirror's build quality. Auto dip is way better. and the r56 outside door handle is way better

The front end is that shape and the deformable black bumper bar is there to meet the latest European pedestrian safety regulations.

Front end of the non-S isn't nearly as bad as the S. In black the black bumper doesn't stick out so much. Still not attractive though.

Really if it were just the front end I might live with it for the performance upgrades... But the back end is just god-awful.

Picked up a CPO '12 S on Saturday instead. The Clubman looks promising... Look forward to seeing it in person in production form. Should have the' 12 paid off around the time the Clubman's bugs are shaken out.
