Anyone got any info on "go fast" aftermarket mods for the mini cooper s and where I can go to look at/buy them.

I hear that Juan Pablo Montoya has a 210hp MINI.

The John Cooper Works kit will be available at your local dealer soon and for the small price of $4,000 your MCS can be pushing close to 200hp

 

I can't promise you anything, but i've heard that John Cooper Works has a "kit" which supposedly gives you an INSANE 90 hp increase in power. That puts your cooper s at about 250 horsepower.....and it supposedly won't void the warranty!
I haven't checked, but I'm sure someone has posted something about it in the "Beneath the bonnet" forum. If not, maybe we should start the thread...

 

What kind of 1/4 miles times would I be looking at with this kit?

Anyone got a guess?

 

Oh and I have also herd that some people have been running Nitrous Express kits on the mini is this true?

with the works upgrade, I would guess the 1/4 mile in the high 13s low 14s. I run a duster with a 428, and I hit the high 10s

 

I know for a fact...that I definately DO NOT have the fastest MCS...
but....
I woulds like a FASTER...MCS

 

JCW has a 200BHP kit. I'm picking up mine car direct from them in 2 months. There is no 250BHP kit and Montoya is getting the standard 200BHP car. 200BHP in a MCS is awesome.

So...about a year until another aftermarket company basically copies the Works kit, right?

200bhp sounds pretty sweet, but for $4k + installation, that hurts!

for another 5k you can get a 200hp regular cooper which will blow the doors off my MCS...lol!
Just read the article on the new neon...0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds...damn, every new compact car now is blowing the doors off my mcs...guess it's time to modify...lol!

just kidding...I didnt buy the MCS for its quickness because its no rocket, bought it for it's handling which is terrific...although I was surprised the new neon had faster slalom times than the mcs....

Yeah, but don't feel too blue miniblues, it's STILL a neon. Just say No!
