How much is this going to cost?

Not a good week for driving my Mini.

Driving to the Dr.s on Tuesday and a 6 inch crack developed in the windshield on the drivers side. The crack is about half way up and so far hasn't come into view when driving.

Today when driving home from work, a big ole opossum strolled out in front of me. I barely got my foot off the accelerator when he hit the wrap around plastic bumper by the fog light. Thump...Bump... So, I checked it when I got home and the darn bumper has a nice crack in it down by the fog light and the whole left side of the bumper sits about 1/2" back from the fog light. The fog light lens is shattered and the lower grille is pushed back about an inch or so too. I did manage to pull out the grille but not sure if it will stay that way. I tried to get my hand back there but everything is enclosed.

Any idea how much these repairs are going to run? These days it doesn't take much to get a couple K's in damages.

Hope I don't hit anything tomorrow......

thanks for listening.

Depending on the insurance company in your area, insurance should cover both. In Alaska, they would be covered under comprehensive coverage so if you have a deductible on that, that's about what it would cost you.

Insurance

Thank God for insurance. Replaced the fog light lens on wife's Countryman and it cost $300. And she does not have fog lights but there is a light there.

That sucks! To bad yours isn't Kite Blue, tonight I just replaced my front bumper with the JCW Aerokit bumper and would have sold you mine for a great price.

Insurance usually pays 100% for the windshield and the animal collision might be considered a comp claim so your deductible may only be $100.

If it is only the plastic bumper pieces that are damaged then your looking at about $1000. If you like the JCW Aerokit it might be a good time to change over (at least the front) might not cost that much more. I paid $1400 after shipping and paint. I did install it myself.

Love the Kite Blue color. Dealer didn't have that one in stock when I bought mine.

Maybe the small light is a driving light and not a fog light....not sure.
WOW....$300 for the lens cover. That's what's loose and flopping around on mine. Just looked again and saw a few star shaped crackles in the paint on the front (in between the animal hair stuck in the seams).

My mini is going in for repairs on Monday. Hope it doesn't take too long.

Since the accident wiped out the front fog light and I have the burned out bulb indicator light LIT UP, I also have the windshield washer fluid low light ON. I topped off the fluid, reset the CHECK INFO and the low fluid light is still on. Any idea if this is wired through the fog light? Kinda strange they both went on they same time.

Thanks

I dont remember does the wiper fluid bottle go down in front of the front tire, if so it may have cracked the bottle and now its leaking, or messed up the sensor

The windshield washer fluid container goes around the lower fog light / postilion light housing on the driver side.
