Help with Satellite module?!

Hey there... New Mini owner here.

I have a 2009 Hatchback S.

Short version-- need verification or help from a guru. Anyway, wanted to add the satellite module to my car. It was pre-wired. I picked up a BMW# 65209142852. The parts interchange says it should work for my car. Part fit fine under the seat, right plugs and connections... Took my car to the dealership today, and they say it won't work-- I HAVE TO HAVE part# 65129278266. Quoted $1,345.06 for the part only by the way.

Is this correct? If so, does anyone have a discount source still for this part. I had seen it for around $270 but no longer available.

I am out $ for the wrong part now. HELP!?

Mark C.

Bump-- can anyone verify why the interchange # would not work. I also show 65129142852 should work. I don't want to be out more money. Can someone verify what will actually work?

After more research. Part# looks right. Dealer gave me an older# which is also right. Ends up the unit was faulty. Getting another. I may also have to reconfigure MOST network-- but don't know yet. I will cross that bridge when I get to it. If anybody can point me to a MOST diagram-- that would be helpful. MC

Update-- Spent an entire day figuring out how the fiber-optic MOST system works and is configured, as well as what parts and modifications are needed to install the SAT module. I still have to get the car coded-- so only about 50% done. Can the car be coded without going to the dealer using the DIY software? Looks like a big "maybe?" If it can, please message me as I ordered the programming cable today (for some other mods). Also, anyone who can help with poor FM reception, please message me. I am thinking maybe the cables are disconnected or the antenna base has failed. I can only get like 2 stations on FM in a major metro area. Something is wrong!

You can retrofit and program yourself using NCSexpert. Check all of the threads on it in the Modifications->Electrical section of this board. Here is a thread to get you started. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...beginners.html

I saw that. I have ordered a NCSExpert cable. Do you happen to know what changes in which modules need to be made?
