Homelink Mirror swap on R53. Need input

Today, I swapped my basic mirror (non-dimming/homelink) with a Homelink autodimming mirror. The swap was very easy(plug-n-play). Once I did the swap, My lock/unlock features in my fob, no longer works. I swapped back to my original and my keyfob still does not work. Is there something special I need to do in order to reactivate my unlock/lock features? BTW, I own a 2005 R53.

You need to reinitialise the key, step one: turn the key to the second position in the ignition, step two: remove key and press and hold the lock button, step three: while holding lock button press the unlock button three times, the locks should cycle if done properly, repeat steps two and three for the other key too, also make sure all the doors are shut
