So what's the easiest way to put in a subwoofer? 2010 S

Hey guys, my sister just got the 2010 S, and I'm looking into getting her a sub. Does the stock HK premium system have rca out's for an easy sub/amp addition? Basically, how easy is it to add an amp/sub into the system itself? I may just go the route of a powered bass tube or something. I would imagine a single 10'' would do just fine in that sized cabin.

There are no factory pre-outs. You will need a High-Low converter or a processor. I just run a converter for now to an Alpine Type-X 10. It gets the job done but it could be better.

I just installed a kicker 10" amplified sub, kicker PT10. I tied it into the front inputs to the H/K amp. This sub really pounds in my 2010 MCS. It provides more than enough low bass and is a perfect addition to the hk system. Sent from my iPad using NAMotoring

I have the Kicker HS150 8" powered sub, which front speaker feed did you use for the sub?

Front hk amplifier inputs.

FR + pin 9. Bl/gr
FR - pin 17. Bl/yellow
FL + pin 38. Gr/bl
FL - pin 30. Gr/br
Pin 10 is remote line

I was asked why I didn't tie into the hk amplifiers outputs. The more put in, the more coming out. I was told the hk amp would multiply the output from the amplified subwoofer. Honestly, it sounds just fine the way it is. Has plenty of bass. Any more and the crispness from the stock hk speakers would get drowned out. Sent from my iPad using NAMotoring

1.) you do not need a loc. you can easily tap the inputs to the amp.

2.) easiest is the Integral Audio system, not the cheapest, but it is everything you need, down to the last nut and bolt.

http://www.integralaudio.com/install...C1101S-R56.pdf

A student of mine just installed a sub in his R56 in class.

I did my R55 last weekend, that .PDF is really helpful.

It was easy to splice into the factory harness for the audio.
