Garmin GPS Install please help!

Hi Everyone,

I just received my Garmin GPS Mini Navigation Installation Kit but the only installation instructions available online show a four-wire harness and mine has a simple two-wire.
I'd like to install myself but don't know where to tap in for power. Any thoughts?

Rob

Cigarette lighter power under the console. I just use the lighter adaptor and routed the wire between the console and lower kick panel with the wire coming out beside the tach.

'Lighter Adapter', does that mean I need to purchase it or is the adapter just waiting for me to find it?

Got it. I thought you meant tapping into the cigarette lighter circuit (from below so that it's unseen) and hardwiring that way. I have a wiring harness that I'd like to use but I don't know where to tap for power so that it is a clean install. It really should be a simple power tap as I have a positive and negative two-wire harness just waiting to connect

Like I said in post #2. Tap into the wires for the cigarette lighter under the console, using your two wire kit. It is switched power.

You could wire it over to the fuse panel. That's what I did when I hardwired my GPS. Got an add-a-fuse or some thing like that to create an additional spot.
