I was going to give it a good yank yesterday, but then I considered that there might be fuses behind it and if I broke the sucker... well... anyway.. see above?

If there is nothing behind it, I'm going to remove it for the leg room.

thanks.

I am just guessing here, but I doubt there is anything underneath. However the carpeting may not go all the way underneath.

Just a guess..........go ahead yank that sucker out and let us know what happens

Remember the Bruce Springsteen classic growing-up?

"And I swore I'd found the key to the universe,

beneath the foot rest of an old parked car."

The metal part can be pried gently off. Under that you'll find 2 screws holding the assembly on.

Pry the oval shaped piece off, you'll find two nuts to remove. Remove them and the plastic footrest comes off, leaving two threaded stems sticking out of the floor. The carpet has two holes cut in it for the two stems to come through.

From here you're on your own...
