Changing from RunFlats to Regular, do you have to replace all 4?

Hey all, Newbie here and need some advice. I've had my clubman S for about 4 months. 2008 with only 24k miles. Got a flat yesterday (memorial day) and didn't realize I had run flats. The tire has a huge gash and won't hold much air. So, after reading a bunch of these forums, I realized I should just replace the tires with non-runflats (my front two tires were in need of replacing anyway), but my back tires are still ok.

Should I replace all four since the they are different type of tires?

Any new 195/55 - 16's that are hot right now? (commuter / non-track / good in rain)

Can I "really" drive on the run flat for 10 - 20 miles?

Thanks all!

It is always a good idea to change all for to avoid possible handling issues with different makes, models and tread patterns. You will love nonrunflats.

Yes you can run on runflats for actually about 50 miles, but the tire is no good after you used them that way.

You really should, if you don't the car will handle odd when you hit bumps especially when turning. I know cause I had a MINI like this for awhile and it def didn't feel right.

Consider 205/50-16 for more choice. TireRack.com has extraordinary information.

Depends on your budget-

In 205/55-16 which will fit stock wheels and suspension-
see
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...wws=N&showcm=N

The top 5+ are all good but with various prices, best compromise commuter tire is Continental ExtremeContact DWS (good comfort and good in nearly all weather including cold) while Bridgestone RE970AS is good all round tire with value, emphasis on good handling in any weather.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 (Ultra High Perf All Season tire), W or Y speed rated
and
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 (High Perf All Season tire) V or H speed rated
Are both new tires that will perform well for street use. The V or H speed rated versions are cheaper and come in OEM sizes, they still work fine and are a good value.
