Exhaust that Sounds like a Fiat Abarth

Heard a stock Fiat Abarth last weekend and would love to find an aftermarket exhaust for my 2013 MSC Roadster that duplicates the Abarth exhaust note or at least comes close to it. Any ideas?

I have a friend with an Abarth and it definitely has a more raspy note than an MCS. Some people like it some people don't.

I don't think there is quite a combo out there for the MCS that will make it sound identical. Most exhausts for the MCS out there produce a deeper tone. Even with my catless exhaust and Magnaflow muffler, it has a more of a low end grunt.

I think the best MCS sound ever recorded is the MINI JCW Challenge exhaust.

Keep in mind that's a factory JCW, N14 engine, and a UK base ECU map that pops and burbles like crazy. I know on my MCS I can never produce those nasty notes

Those cars are catless and run a "JCW Challenge" muffler, which basically sounds like a muffler barely doing it's job :-) I don't think those mufflers are available anymore.

Yes, your spouse will hate it.

Remove muffler and go catless. That's all I've got... (Abarth exhaust has no muffler)

The nice thing about the MINI is that even when de-catted the sound is still manageable if your foot is not into the gas. It's only when your foot is dug into the throttle pedal and the turbo is in high boost that things get entertaining!

Agreed. I still have my stock cat, removed 2nd cat and resonator, and still have stock mufflers (R55 has 2) and it doesn't draw too much attention usually. Unlike this morning, I came out of a turn behind some civic with a bunch of stickers on it passed him on the outside at near WOT and then he down shifted and tried to keep up with me. I wasn't racing...just late to work and he saw the opportunity to "race" a guy commuting, lol. With stock exhaust he may have not tried to keep up, but now that I make some more noise he figured we were rice brothers?

Where did you mount your horns and air compressor/tank? Why need an exhaust when you have that?

I put this in for a temporary trial, but I liked it and haven't changed it yet.
